COA LaDue Reservoir Kayak
Saturday, August 18
After a summer of going with the flow on rivers, we will be the flow on LaDue Reservoir. Join us for a relaxing two hours float. There will be (almost) no current, so we can go any whichway we want and we won’t have to worry about the typically low August water levels on the rivers.
We will be renting from Breakaway Excursions-
Breakaway Excursions now offers kayak rentals at the beautiful 6 mile long man made lake, LaDue Reservoir located in Aurora just east of Solon, Ohio. It has plenty of quiet coves and small islands for fishing and exploring. Because it is a narrow lake it is pretty well protected from the wind and usually very calm. The reservoir is part of Akron’s drinking water. There is an abundance of wildlife and great fishing.
We are approximately 40 minutes from Cleveland, Akron and Youngstown. Easily accessible from major highways. You will find our gray enclosed trailer off of Route 44 on the west side by the bridge. We are just south of Taylor May Road. PLEASE NOTE: We ARE NOT at the boat house off of Rt 422
PLEASE GO TO THE BREAKAWAY EXCURSIONS CALENDAR THROUGH THE LINK BELOW AND SELECT THE AUGUST 18 NOON LAUNCH., THEN SELECT THE KAYAK OF YOUR CHOICE AND FOLLOW THE REST OF THE PROMPTS.
YOU MUST BOOK THROUGH BREAKAWAY EXCURSIONS. NOTING ATTENDANCE ON FACEBOOK WILL NOT RESERVE A KAYAK.
There is no address for the launch site. It is on Route 44 before you cross the bridge over the reservoir. Most people will take Route 422 through Solon and exit at Route 44. TURN RIGHT (SOUTH) ON ROUTE 44. YOU WILL SEE THE LAUNCH SITE AND THE BREAKAWAY EXCURSIONS TRAILER ON THE RIGHT SEVERAL MILES AFTER YOU EXIT ROUTE 422.
DO NOT USE GPS. MANY PEOPLE HAVE BEEN TAKEN TO THE BOATHOUSE NORTH OF 422.
Sunscreen, water shoes, and a bottle of water are recommended.
If you have any questions the day of the event call 440-319-0185.
